Bambu Lab PLA-CF is a high-strength PLA filament reinforced with carbon fibers, combining the easy printability of classic PLA with significantly improved mechanical properties. Thanks to its carbon content, it offers higher stiffness, strength and a matte surface that hides layer lines.

Key features

The material reaches a stiffness of up to 3,950 MPa, placing it among filaments suitable for functional and load-bearing parts. The carbon fibers in the PLA matrix increase dimensional stability and minimize warping and shrinkage during cooling. The result is accurate prints with consistent dimensions - ideal for assembly components and parts with tight tolerances.

The printed surface has a fine matte texture that effectively hides the visibility of individual layers and visually resembles fabric, matte plastic or ceramic. The material retains the low risk of nozzle clogging typical for regular PLA and is fully compatible with the AMS system thanks to an RFID chip, which automatically transfers print parameters to the printer.

Who is Bambu Lab PLA-CF 1kg, with spool for

This material is designed for users who need accurate and mechanically durable prints with a matte surface. It is suitable for functional prototypes, holders, structural parts, RC models, drones, electronics enclosures, jigs and fixtures, tools or parts exposed to mechanical stress. Thanks to its excellent dimensional stability, it is also suitable for assembly components with tight tolerances.

For maximum strength, orient the model so that the load acts in the XY plane rather than along the Z axis. If you need higher temperature resistance, consider PETG or ABS, or other filaments from the carbon category.

Usage tips

  • Always dry the filament before printing - PLA-CF is sensitive to moisture and damp material loses its mechanical properties and surface quality.
  • Use only a hardened steel nozzle - abrasive carbon fibers quickly wear out brass or stainless steel nozzles.
  • 0.2 mm nozzles are not compatible due to the risk of clogging by carbon fibers.
  • When handling, sanding or cutting, wear gloves - carbon fibers can cause micro-damage to the skin.
  • For load-bearing parts, orient the model so that the main load acts in the XY plane.
  • Store in a dry environment, ideally in a box with a moisture absorber or directly in the AMS with a desiccant.
  • The Refill version requires the use of the reusable Bambu Reusable Spool.
  • The RFID chip enables automatic loading of print parameters in the AMS system.
