PETG is one of the most commonly used filaments. Thanks to its strength and durability, it is an excellent choice for printing mechanically stressed parts, such as various holders and clamps.
Thanks to its excellent layer adhesion, PETG is also ideal for printing waterproof models suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. In addition, it is a very tough material with good resistance to high temperatures. The letter “G” in PETG stands for glycol, which is used during production to modify PET properties. Glycol reduces brittleness, makes printing easier, and improves transparency in semi-transparent variants.
PETG has low thermal expansion, so even when printing large models (without an enclosure), it rarely warps or lifts from the heated bed. Moreover, PETG is stronger and less brittle than PLA and has a healthy degree of flexibility, helping prevent parts from breaking under stress.
