PolySonic™ PLA - revolutionary high-speed filament for 3D printing

PolySonic™ PLA is a revolutionary high-speed filament for 3D printing that changes the game in additive manufacturing. With lightning-fast extrusion speed, top-notch precision, and exceptional layer properties, you can increase the speed of your 3D printer and achieve a whole new level of productivity. Speed up your workflows without compromising on strength or quality.

What is high-speed filament?

A material is considered a "high-speed" filament if it meets the following three criteria at a certain printing temperature:

  1. Fluidity: On standard extruders, it can consistently print at a speed of 24 mm3/s (which corresponds to 300 mm/s at a layer height of 0.2 mm with a 0.4 mm nozzle).
  2. Moldability: At a speed of 24 mm3/s, it maintains similar surface quality, overhangs, and bridging as when printing at lower speeds.
  3. Functionality: At a speed of 24 mm3/s, it retains at least 80% of the overall mechanical properties as when printing at lower speeds (primarily layer adhesion, tensile strength, and impact toughness).

  1. Maximum flow rate: 29 mm3/s** (tested on a special extruder platform with E3D Volcano hotend, 0.4 mm nozzle, and Hemera XS extruder).
  2. Similar quality confirmed: Experts from Polymaker confirmed similar quality when printing at speeds of 4 mm3/s and 24 mm3/s.
  3. Layer adhesion at speeds of 4 mm3/s-24 mm3/s: 37.3-32.3 MPa (retaining 87%).
  4. Tensile strength at speeds of 4 mm3/s-24 mm3/s: 46.0-43.9 (retaining 95%).
  5. Impact strength at speeds of 4 mm3/s-24 mm3/s: 6.1-5 kJ/m2 (retaining 82%).
