Bambu Lab PLA Tough+ is an enhanced PLA filament designed for printing durable parts that retain the easy printability of classic PLA, while offering toughness comparable to ABS. The refill package without a spool is designed for reuse with an empty original Bambu Lab spool.
Key features
PLA Tough+ is optimized for real-world mechanical stress. Thanks to improved toughness (XY impact strength up to 80.6 kJ/m²) and approximately 2x better interlayer adhesion compared to standard PLA, it withstands impacts, drops and repeated bending. The material retains the dimensional stability, easy printing properties and low shrinkage typical of PLA. The filament diameter is 1.75 mm with a tolerance of +/- 0.03 mm, and the spool weight is 1 kg. The spool is equipped with an RFID chip for automatic identification in the AMS system.

This filament is intended for printing functional and mechanically stressed parts - RC models, aircraft models, couplings, clips, springs, holders and tools that require resistance to impacts and repeated bending. It is ideal for users who want to keep the printing comfort of PLA but need higher mechanical durability than standard PLA Basic. The Refill variant is intended for owners of original Bambu Lab spools and represents a more economical and eco-friendly solution.
Usage tips
- The refill must be mounted on an empty original Bambu Lab spool.
- Before printing, we recommend drying the filament at 55 °C for 8 hours.
- Recommended build plates: Cool Plate SuperTack, Smooth PEI Plate or Textured PEI Plate.
- Due to the higher interlayer strength, use a dedicated support material for supports (Bambu Support for PLA or Support for PLA/PETG).
- When melting, the material may have a slightly more noticeable (non-pungent) odor - ensure adequate ventilation.
- Compatible with all nozzle sizes and all hotend materials.
- Do not store in direct sunlight, protect from moisture in an airtight container.
- The RFID chip ensures automatic loading of parameters in the AMS system.
- In case Bambu Lab Refill filaments are unavailable, we reserve the right to replace it with the spooled version at the same price.
