Product variants
Spectrum Premium PCTG is a premium copolyester filament that combines the advantages of PET-G and Tough PLA. It offers easy printing, high impact toughness, excellent dimensional stability, and outstanding surface quality of printed models.
Key features
PCTG is a more modern alternative to PET-G, with which it shares the material group, but it outperforms it in several key parameters. The material reaches a heat deflection temperature (HDT) of 76 °C, features higher impact toughness, high chemical resistance, and low shrinkage during printing. The filament is hydrophobic and odorless, making it suitable for longer print jobs.
Printing does not require an enclosed heated chamber, which broadens the range of printers on which the material can be processed. Additional advantages include easy processing and finishing (sanding, gluing, polishing) and excellent surface quality straight from the printer. In transparent variants, the material achieves higher transparency than comparable PET-G, even with a lower number of outer perimeters.

Who is the Spectrum Premium PCTG 1.75mm 1kg filament suitable for
PCTG is an ideal choice for functional prototypes, concept models, production tools, and fixtures that require higher toughness and dimensional accuracy than standard PLA. Thanks to its chemical resistance, it is also suitable for manufacturing parts that come into contact with solvents or cleaning agents. The material is also well-suited for producing transparent parts, electronic enclosures, light diffusers, and design models with an emphasis on surface quality.
Tips for use
- Before printing, we recommend drying the filament at 65 °C for 6 - 8 hours.
- Clean the print bed with isopropyl alcohol - PCTG has excellent adhesion to PEI and glass.
- For maximum transparency, reduce the number of perimeters and use a higher layer height (0.24 - 0.28 mm).
- For stronger parts, increase the nozzle temperature to the upper end of the recommended range (245 - 250 °C).
- Optimize retraction - PCTG tends to produce slight stringing; recommended retraction is 1 - 2 mm for Direct Drive and 4 - 6 mm for Bowden.
- Store the spool in a dry place, ideally in a vacuum box with a moisture absorber.
- When printing in an enclosed space, ensure mild part cooling for better detail on overhangs.
