The Snapmaker U1 is a compact FDM 3D printer that combines robust construction with practical automation. It offers a build volume of 270 x 270 x 270 mm, a Direct Drive extruder with a nozzle up to 300 °C and a heated bed up to 100 °C, so it easily handles materials from PLA and PETG to technical ABS, ASA or nylon. An integrated camera, touchscreen and cloud control place it among printers ready for modern workflows.

Large 270 x 270 x 270 mm build volume

The cubic build volume of 270 mm per side provides plenty of room for large models, functional prototypes, and a batch of smaller parts in a single print. With external dimensions of 499 x 584 x 730 mm, the printer remains reasonably compact, and at 18.2 kg it fits comfortably on a standard workbench.

Direct Drive extruder up to 300 °C

The Direct Drive layout feeds filament straight into the hotend, ensuring precise handling even with softer materials such as TPU. The nozzle can heat up to 300 °C, so the printer can also handle technical materials like polycarbonate or composites with carbon fibers. Replacement nozzles are readily available.

Heated bed and flexible steel sheet

The bed heats up to 100 °C, covering the requirements of ABS and ASA. The flexible steel sheet lets you simply peel off the model by bending it once cooled - no prying with a spatula, no damage to the first layer.

Automatic calibration and sensors

The automatic bed leveling system measures the geometry of the print surface for you and creates a compensation map for a perfect first layer. A filament runout sensor and power loss protection safeguard long prints from being ruined.

Open or enclosed design

You can run the print chamber open for PLA and PETG, or close it for printing ABS, ASA and other materials prone to warping. A stable chamber temperature reduces warping and improves interlayer adhesion of technical plastics.

Camera, touchscreen and cloud

The integrated camera enables live print monitoring, failure detection and time-lapse recording. The touchscreen makes on-machine control clear and intuitive, while cloud, Wi-Fi and USB give you flexibility in sending jobs - from anywhere, anytime. The 26 GB internal storage holds dozens of prepared g-code files.

Fast printing up to 300 mm/s

The mechanics and control electronics are rated for a recommended print speed of up to 300 mm/s (depending on material). Combined with a layer height range of 0.08 - 0.24 mm, you can choose between fine detail and a fast draft depending on the project's needs.
