Filament-PM PA CFJet Carbon is a high-performance engineering filament based on PA12 polyamide with 17% carbon fiber content. It combines the toughness of nylon with the high stiffness and strength of carbon, making it one of the top materials for technical and industrial applications.

Key features

PA-CFJet is designed for carbon-filled printing applications where high dimensional stability, mechanical resistance and the ability to withstand elevated temperatures are required. The base material is PA12 polyamide reinforced with short carbon fibers. The resulting print has a rougher matte graphite surface, reduced susceptibility to warping and significantly higher stiffness compared to standard nylon. The material withstands temperatures up to 160 °C, achieves tensile strength up to 49 MPa and impact toughness of 45 kJ/m2. It is suitable for parts exposed to mechanical and thermal loads, chemical influences and wear.

Who is Filament-PM PA CFJet Carbon 0.5 kg suitable for

The material is intended for experienced makers and industrial users. It is used for the production of functional prototypes, structural parts, 3D printer components, brackets, drone frames, fixtures, jigs and wherever a rigid, dimensionally stable and heat-resistant part is required. Thanks to the combination of PA12 and carbon fibers, the material is suitable for mechanical engineering, automotive, aerospace and demanding technical applications.

Printing tips

  • The filament is hygroscopic - always dry it thoroughly before printing and ideally use a dryer or dry box during printing.
  • Use a hardened (steel) nozzle - carbon fibers will quickly abrade a standard brass nozzle.
  • An enclosed and heated print chamber minimizes warping and improves interlayer adhesion.
  • For bed adhesion we recommend Magigoo HT glue or a similar adhesive product for PA materials.
  • Reduce printing speed and turn off active cooling - slower printing ensures better mechanical properties of the part.
  • For higher accuracy and nozzle longevity, use a diameter of 0.4 mm and larger.
  • Finished parts can be further machined, drilled and tapped.
