Elegoo ASA in white is a technical filament designed for printing parts resistant to UV radiation, weather conditions and higher temperatures. The 1 kg spool with 1.75 mm filament diameter offers a stable diameter tolerance of ±0.02 mm, low moisture absorption and mechanical properties comparable to ABS, but with significantly better UV stability. An ideal choice for outdoor applications, holders, electronics enclosures and functional prototypes.

UV and weather resistance

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) was developed specifically as a replacement for ABS for outdoor use. Thanks to the chemical structure of the material, the white color retains its shade even after prolonged exposure to sunlight and does not yellow as quickly as PLA or standard ABS. Prints withstand rain, frost and UV.

Stable diameter 1.75 mm ±0.02 mm

The tight diameter tolerance ensures consistent melt flow through the nozzle and thus a smooth print surface without defects or over-pressurization. The filament is wound on the spool without tangling, which is appreciated by anyone running long, multi-hour prints.

Mechanical strength and toughness

ASA maintains high tensile strength, stiffness and impact toughness - parts behave similarly to those made of ABS, but tolerate thermal cycling better. An excellent compromise between the stiffness of PETG and the heat resistance of more technical materials such as nylon or polycarbonate.

Heat resistance up to approx. 95 °C

A softening temperature (HDT) around 95 °C allows the use of parts in cars, in electrical installations or in direct sunlight, where PLA would have failed long ago. The material is also suitable for power supply enclosures and camera mounts.

Recommended print parameters

Print the filament at a nozzle temperature of 240-260 °C, heat the bed to 90-110 °C. We strongly recommend an enclosed printer or at least an enclosure - ASA is sensitive to drafts and printing larger parts could result in layer delamination. A standard 0.4 mm brass nozzle is sufficient for printing.

Acetone smoothing for a smooth surface

Just like ABS, ASA can also be treated with acetone vapors. After a short exposure, the print gains a glossy and smooth surface without visible layers - an advantage for display parts, enclosures and design objects. For regular functional prints, quality slicer settings are sufficient.

Low moisture absorption

ASA absorbs water more slowly than nylon or PETG, so it maintains its print properties even after longer storage. For best results, store the material in a sealed bag with silica gel or in a filament dryer.

Printer compatibility

The filament is compatible with practically all FDM printers that reach 250 °C on the nozzle and 100 °C on the bed - Prusa MK4/MK4S, Bambu Lab X1C/P1S, Elegoo Centauri Carbon, Qidi, Creality K1 and others. For the best bed adhesion, use a PEI sheet or ABS Juice.
