Product variants
Elegoo ASA filament in black is a professional material for 3D printing of outdoor and technical parts that must survive solar radiation, rain and frost. The 1 kg spool with a diameter tolerance of ±0.02 mm ensures consistent flow through the extruder and a clean print surface without defects.
Higher UV resistance than ABS

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is the successor to ABS that handles long-term exposure to sunlight without yellowing and becoming brittle. Parts made of ASA retain their color and mechanical properties even after months outdoors, making it ideal for camera mounts, automotive prototypes, electronics covers or components for RC models.
Stable diameter 1.75 mm ±0.02 mm
An accurate diameter along the entire length of the strand eliminates under-extrusion and pressure spikes in the nozzle. The filament is carefully wound, so it does not tangle or jam during long print jobs. For printing technical parts this consistency is essential - you achieve repeatable results across all layers.
High thermal and chemical resistance
The material withstands operating temperatures around 95 °C without deformation and resists oils, weak acids and alcohols well. It is therefore suitable for parts in the engine compartment, covers for outdoor sensors or elements exposed to cleaning agents. If you need an even higher temperature class, also take a look at polycarbonate or nylon.
Perfect smoothing with acetone
Just like ABS, ASA also reacts to acetone vapors. After a short bath, the print becomes glossy and the layers merge into a smooth surface resembling cast parts. Great for visual prototypes, body shell models or parts where you need to eliminate layer stepping without lengthy sanding.
Recommended print temperatures
Heat the nozzle to 240-260 °C and the bed to 90-110 °C. For reliable printing we recommend an enclosed chamber and disabled part cooling, or cooling up to 20 %. As with ABS, draughts may cause corner lifting. Using a quality nozzle for abrasive filaments is not required, ASA is a non-abrasive material.
Low moisture absorption
From a hygroscopic point of view, ASA is calmer than PETG or nylon, but we still recommend storing the spool in a dry place with silica gel. The filament is delivered vacuum-packed with a desiccant bag, so you can print immediately after unpacking. For longer storage, a short drying at 60 °C for 4-6 hours is sufficient.
Deep black without translucency
The Ultra Black shade is deeply saturated and does not show through even in thin walls. The surface has a matte-satin appearance that perfectly masks layers and looks professional even without post-processing. If you prefer other materials, take a look at our categories PLA and PETG.
Compatibility with common 3D printers
The spool with a standard inner diameter of 53 mm fits the holders of Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Elegoo Neptune, Anycubic and other FDM printers. For best results, choose a printer with an enclosed or partially enclosed chamber that maintains the temperature around the part.
