Bambu Lab PLA Basic 1kg (Refill) is an easy-to-print PLA filament in a spoolless refill design without a plastic spool. It is intended for repeated use with the original Bambu Reusable Spool and combines reliable printability, a smooth print surface and high print speeds of up to 258 mm/s.

Key features

PLA Basic is a polylactic acid-based material that is biodegradable and made from renewable resources. The precise diameter tolerance of 1.75 mm +/- 0.03 mm ensures stable extrusion and uniform layering. Bambu Lab has optimized the composition for better layer adhesion, higher impact resistance and longer print lifespan compared to standard PLA filaments.

The Refill variant does not include a plastic spool - it reduces waste and is more economical for regular printing. The filament is equipped with an RFID chip, thanks to which the AMS (Automatic Material System) automatically recognizes the material type and loads the optimal print parameters without the need for manual setup.

The Refill package is designed for Bambu Lab printer users who already own the original Bambu Reusable Spool and want to save costs and reduce plastic waste. The filament is suitable for everyday printing - prototypes, decorations, functional household parts, cosplay components, figurines, models and educational projects. Its low printing demands make it a reliable choice for beginners as well as advanced users looking for consistent quality.

Tips for use

• Before printing, always mount the refill onto the Bambu Reusable Spool according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• Store the filament in a dry environment, ideally in a vacuum bag with a moisture absorber.
• If prints contain bubbles or small cracks, dry the filament - PLA absorbs airborne moisture.
• For maximum print speed, use Bambu Lab printers with active cooling and a low-mass print head.
• Use a 0.4 mm nozzle for the best balance of detail and speed; larger nozzles (0.6 - 0.8 mm) will shorten print time for larger models.
• PLA is not suitable for parts exposed to temperatures above 55 °C - for heat-stressed applications choose PETG, ASA or ABS.
• Print the first layer on a clean plate - degrease with isopropyl alcohol for maximum adhesion.
• In case of unavailability of Refill Bambu Lab filaments, we reserve the right to replace it with the spooled version at the same price.
