Product variants
Bambu Lab PLA Wood is a composite filament that combines a high-quality PLA matrix with fine wood dust. The result is prints with an authentic structure and a tactilely pleasant surface resembling real wood, accompanied by a subtle woody scent during printing.
Key features
PLA Wood is based on classic PLA blended with fine wood dust. The material is easy to print on standard FDM printers, has a matte surface that effectively hides layers, and gives prints an organic appearance. The filament is compatible with AMS and AMS lite systems and can be combined with other PLA materials to achieve interesting visual effects. The filament diameter is 1.75 mm with a tolerance of +/- 0.03 mm, and the spool weight is 1 kg. After printing, the surface can be further treated by sanding, staining, or waxing, similar to real wood.

Who is the Bambu Lab PLA Wood filament, 1 kg with spool suitable for
This filament is ideal for makers seeking the aesthetics of natural wood combined with the simplicity of PLA printing. It is well suited for decorative items, sculptures, architectural models, stands, frames, boxes, wine accessories, or replicas of historical artifacts. Thanks to its matte surface and fine grainy texture, the prints look handcrafted and organic.
Tips for use
- Always dry the filament before printing - wood dust increases moisture absorption.
- Store in a vacuum bag or in the AMS with desiccant (humidity below 20 % RH).
- Use a hardened nozzle with a diameter of at least 0.4 mm - wood particles can abrade soft brass.
- A 0.2 mm nozzle is not recommended due to the risk of clogging.
- For better adhesion, use glue (e.g. Bambu Liquid Glue) on smooth PEI or Cool Plate SuperTack.
- Reduce retraction to limit nozzle clogging caused by wood particles.
- Expect a mild woody scent during printing - it is non-toxic and non-irritating.
- PLA Wood can be combined with PLA Basic and PLA Matte for multi-color and multi-texture prints.
