Filament Spectrum PET-G Premium
High transparency and chemical resistance
Filament Spectrum PET-G Premium is, along with PLA, one of the most popular materials for 3D printing. A very important advantage of PETG is the practically zero shrinkage coefficient and low moisture absorption compared to other thermoplastics used in FDM/FFF 3D printing. Parts printed from PET-G maintain property stability after long-term use. Filament Spectrum PET-G Premium combines the most desirable properties of PLA and ABS.
Elements made using transparent colors of Spectrum PET-G Premium are characterized by a large participation of the crystallographic phase, thanks to which it is possible to achieve an effect close to transparency with a small number of external contours of additively manufactured elements. The base material and dyes used for the production of Spectrum PET-G Premium are approved for food contact.
Among other properties of Spectrum PETG, it is worth noting good resistance to creep under constant load conditions. This is possible due to the connection between the layers of the applied material. This leads to significantly lower anisotropy of the mechanical properties of the produced elements, which means that the mechanical properties differ to a lesser extent in different production directions compared to other thermoplastics intended for 3D printing.
Key features:
- very good mechanical properties in terms of stiffness, hardness, and impact resistance
- thermal resistance HDT - 69°C
- Vicat softening point - 78°C
- chemical resistance
- high dimensional accuracy of printed components
- combines the advantages of PLA and ABS
- hydrophobic, odorless
- base material approved for food contact
Applications:
- visual and functional prototyping
- compliance tests
- conceptual models
- manufacturing tools
- production of translucent housings and illuminated parts of various boards and signs
The mechanical properties combined with the chemical resistance of Spectrum PET-G Premium determine the use of this material for the production of elements with relatively high dimensional accuracy and stability of both shape and mechanical properties. These include, among others, gears and sliding bearings that are exposed to static loads in a water environment. In addition, elements in the form of translucent housings and illuminated parts of various types of boards and signs are made from Spectrum PET-G Premium material.
