Spectrum S-Flex 98A is a flexible filament based on thermoplastic polyether polyurethane (TPU), combining elasticity with very good impact toughness and thermal insulation. With a hardness of 98 Shore A, it belongs to the category of hard elastomers, which allows easier and faster printing compared to softer flexible materials.

S-Flex 98A is characterized by a relatively easy and trouble-free 3D printing process. The material offers very good first-layer adhesion to various types of build surfaces (glass, steel, plastic) and low processing shrinkage, which significantly reduces the risk of edge warping. Its high hardness also reduces the risk of filament deformation in the extruder feeding system.

This filament is intended for users who need functional flexible parts with high mechanical and chemical resistance. Thanks to its high resistance to hydrolysis and dynamic loads, it is suitable for manufacturing seals, vibration dampers, bumpers, edge protectors, protective cases, snap-fit parts, hinges, flexible straps, sleeves and spacers. It finds applications in mechanical engineering, modelling and in the production of functional prototypes where a combination of flexibility and stiffness is required. Tips for use
- Use a direct drive extruder for the best results; with a bowden system, the speed must be significantly reduced.
- Set a lower retraction and slower retraction speed - this reduces the risk of filament tangling.
- Dry the material before printing at 60 °C for 4-6 hours, as TPU is hygroscopic.
- Make sure the nozzle is clean and the filament cannot get stuck or bent in the feeder.
- For better interlayer adhesion, slightly increase the nozzle temperature and reduce cooling.
- We recommend printing slowly and evenly; sudden speed changes affect surface quality with flexible materials.
- Store in a dry place, ideally in vacuum packaging with a silica gel sachet.
