Filament Spectrum S-Flex 85A
Flexibility with very good impact resistance and thermal insulation
Spectrum S-Flex 85A is a filament based on thermoplastic polyester polyurethane. In the field of additive manufacturing, the S-Flex 85A material is characterized by a relatively simple and trouble-free 3D printing process. Another advantage that allows for perfect print quality is the very good adhesion of the first layer of the manufactured part to work tables, regardless of whether it is made of glass, steel, plastic, or another material.
Low shrinkage during processing and very high flexibility significantly reduce the risk of so-called edge curling of manufactured parts. The attribute in the filament name - 85A - indicates the material's hardness according to Shore and classifies S-Flex 85A in the category of solid elastomers. This property - in terms of the 3D printing process - limits the risk of filament deformation around the filament feeding system into the print heads. This allows for slightly faster printing compared to other, more sensitive elastomers.
Additively manufactured parts from the S-Flex 85A material are characterized by very high resistance to hydrolysis (a type of degradation caused by the presence of water), good biodegradability, and also very good resistance to dynamic wear. Thanks to these properties, it is possible to 3D print parts that protect surfaces exposed to impacts (bumpers, sharp edge protectors), sealing and protective elements with high chemical resistance, and also thermal insulators.
Key properties:
- up to 650% elongation at break
- high tensile strength and tear resistance
- Shore hardness 85A
- resistance to many popular industrial oils and chemicals
- printing without shrinkage and curling of the printed element base
- reduction of "stringing" during idle movements of the printer
Applications:
- cases, shock absorbers, protective covers
- latch parts
- edge protectors against impacts
- bumpers and vulnerable spacer parts,
- sealing parts with increased stiffness,
- spring damping elements for use in engineering and modeling,
- high-strength elastic bands,
- cases and covers for various devices,
- parts of insulation systems.
Preparation for sale
Filament wound on a transparent design spool. The spool contains information about the type of material, diameter, color, and recommended printing temperature. Each spool is vacuum-packed with a moisture absorber. All in the original Spectrum Filaments box.
