Filament Spectrum PLA PRO
Enhanced thermal resistance and high impact resistance
Filament Spectrum PLA Pro is a material based on modified PLA, which is intended for the production of filaments for 3D printing. Due to the focus of the material's chemical composition, the effect of combining the advantages of PLA and ABS is achieved. It was possible to obtain high impact resistance of the produced elements (50% higher than that of classic ABS material) while maintaining high tensile strength - characteristic of PLA-based materials.
The change in chemical composition also affected the improvement of the material's fluctuation coefficient. Filament PLA PRO is primarily an ideal solution for industrial applications. The basis is high printing efficiency and above all the possibility of increasing the printing speed.
Crystallization:
Filament PLA Pro can be processed at high temperature using a heating chamber. After crystallization, the model is characterized by increased thermal resistance (up to 85°C) and almost double the impact resistance compared to standard ABS.
*Uneven heating can lead to unexpected deformations and suboptimal performance of printed parts. It is necessary to ensure that there are no hot/cold spots in the heating chamber. The typical annealing time for parts with a wall thickness of approx. 3.2 mm is on average 20 minutes.
Key features:
- alternative to styrene-based materials
- increased thermal resistance after heat treatment (up to 85°C)
- better adhesion between deposited layers
- after heat treatment, the model's impact resistance is twice as high as that of standard ABS
- easy separation of the object from the table
- high strength comparable to ABS prints
- no shrinkage after cooling
- possibility of obtaining a perfect side surface
Applications:
- functional prototyping
- functional tools
- design and interior design
- prototyping of industrial samples for concept visualization
