This is an original accessory from the manufacturer Snapmaker, developed specifically for the hotend geometry of the U1 printer. Thanks to the precise fit on the heater block, there is no shifting or exposure of the heating element and thermistor during printing, which significantly increases operational safety.

Thermal stability of the hotend

The silicone cover acts as thermal insulation for the heater block. It minimizes heat losses to the surroundings and helps the PID control maintain the set temperature even with active print cooling. The result is more consistent layers, better material adhesion and fewer temperature drops when the fan blows directly onto the nozzle.

Protection against stuck filament

One of the biggest issues during printing is the gradual build-up of molten filament on the heater block. The silicone sock effectively prevents this - plastic does not stick to the smooth silicone, the hotend stays clean and there is no risk of the so-called "blob" forming, which can lead to damage of the entire head or flooding of the thermistor.

Resistance at high temperatures

The sock material is designed for long-term operation at high temperatures, so it easily handles printing of common materials such as PLA and PETG, as well as technical plastics like ABS, ASA or nylon.

The package contains four pieces, which covers the needs of a U1 user for a long time ahead. Silicone socks are a consumable - over time they harden, tear or get soiled with burnt filament residues. Having a spare at home means you won't have to shut down the printer while waiting for delivery.
