The Snapmaker Smooth PEI Steel Plate is an original smooth print bed designed for the Snapmaker U1 3D printer. The flexible steel sheet with double-sided PEI coating ensures reliable adhesion and easy print removal, making it an ideal choice for printing with PLA, PETG and other common materials.

Original smooth PEI build plate for Snapmaker U1

This is an original Snapmaker spare part (part No. 24044) for the U1 printer. The smooth PEI surface on the flexible steel sheet is designed for maximum adhesion during printing while allowing effortless release of the finished part after the bed cools down. Compared to the textured surface, it leaves a glossy, mirror-smooth finish on the bottom layer.

Double-sided PEI coating

The sheet is coated with PEI on both sides, so when one side wears out, you simply flip the plate over and get a practically new print surface. This extends the plate's lifespan and reduces the overall operating costs of the printer.

Magnetic attachment and easy print removal

The flexible steel plate is held in place on the magnetic base of the Snapmaker U1 printer. After printing is complete, you simply remove it, bend it slightly, and the print pops off on its own. This eliminates the need to pry the model off with a spatula and risk damaging both the surface and the model.

Reliable adhesion for common materials

The smooth PEI surface is a universal solution for most commonly used filaments. It works excellently with PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and nylon. For PETG, we recommend using a thin release layer (e.g. glue stick) to prevent excessive adhesion and tearing of the PEI layer.

Glossy bottom layer finish

The smooth PEI variant produces an even, semi-glossy surface on the bottom of prints without any noticeable texture. It is therefore an ideal choice for models that require an aesthetic appearance of the base - prototypes, design parts or functional components requiring a smooth contact surface.

Precise dimensions for U1

The plate is manufactured to precisely fit the print area of the Snapmaker U1. Thanks to this, it fits into the magnetic bed without any play and ensures consistent flatness across the entire print area.

Easy maintenance

To maintain a long service life, simply degrease the surface regularly with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) at a concentration of at least 90%. Grease from fingers is one of the most common causes of adhesion loss - so always handle the plate by its edges.
