The Shining3D Einstar 2 is a next-generation handheld 3D scanner that combines two scanning modes - the highly accurate Laser HD with 17 blue parallel lines and the fast markerless IR Rapid with VCSEL projection. With resolution down to 0.05 mm, a speed of 2,500,000 points/s and a weight of just 420 g, it delivers professional-grade scanning quality in a compact wireless design with USB-C and an integrated battery.
Dual scanning technology in one device

The Einstar 2 brings two full-fledged scanning modes into a single device. The Laser HD mode uses 17 parallel blue laser lines to capture even the finest details at a resolution of 0.05 mm - ideal for reverse engineering, quality control or the digitization of mechanical parts. The IR Rapid mode uses an infrared VCSEL projector and enables markerless scanning of large objects with an FOV of up to 1170 × 1385 mm.
High resolution and scanning speed

In Laser HD mode, the scanner reaches a speed of 2,500,000 points per second, which means smooth scanning of even complex geometries without stalling or losing track. The IR Rapid mode scans at 1,440,000 points/s and is optimized for the fast digitization of larger surfaces. Two 3D cameras with 2 MP resolution ensure accurate triangulation and stable tracking.
Color texture and full-fledged 3D model

The integrated 2.3 MP texture camera captures a realistic color surface of the scanned object. The output consists of fully textured models in STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF and ASC formats, which can be used directly for 3D printing, visualization, restoration work or the archiving of historical artifacts.
Wireless operation thanks to the integrated battery

The Einstar 2 is equipped with a replaceable 5500 mAh battery supporting 60W PD 3.0 fast charging via USB-C. The scanner therefore works anywhere - in the field, on a construction site, in a garage or in a production hall - without the need for a mains connection. Connectivity through a single USB-C cable simplifies connection to a laptop or tablet.
Scanning outdoors and even in full sunlight
Forget being restricted to studio lighting. The Laser HD mode can scan even under ambient light of up to 110,000 lux, while IR Rapid handles up to 70,000 lux. The IP50 rating and an operating range of -10 °C to +40 °C allow the Einstar 2 to be deployed on construction sites, in depots, museums and outdoor exhibitions.
Compact and lightweight ergonomic body
With dimensions of 130 × 37 × 61 mm and a weight of just 420 g including the battery (or 348 g without it), the Einstar 2 retains the form of a professional device that won't strain your wrist even during long scanning sessions. CE, FCC, RoHS, FDA certifications and laser Class 2 guarantee safety and compliance with European standards.
Flexible alignment and a wide working range
The IR Rapid mode offers four alignment methods - via global markers, geometric features, texture and a hybrid combination. The working distance from 100 mm (Laser HD) up to 1400 mm (IR Rapid) covers objects from jewelry to entire cars or furniture. The minimum scanned volume starts at just 10 × 10 × 10 mm.
An ideal companion for 3D printing
The scanned data can be used directly in 3D printing - whether you are printing spare parts from PLA, functional prototypes from PETG or ABS, or technically demanding parts from nylon, polycarbonate or carbon-fiber composites. For outdoor use, ASA is also a great choice.
