The Revopoint MetroY is a portable wireless 3D scanner with a blue laser, designed for small to medium-sized industrial parts. It combines three multi-line laser scanning modes with speeds of up to 1,500,000 points per second, volumetric accuracy of 0.02 + 0.04 mm × L (m), and wireless data transmission via Wi-Fi 6. It scans shiny and dark surfaces without the need to apply matting spray and is suitable for reverse engineering, quality control, and model preparation for 3D printing.

Three blue laser modes for every geometry

The MetroY offers 30 blue crossed laser lines for fast scanning of surfaces including shiny and dark ones, 15 parallel lines for capturing edges and complex details, and a single laser line mode for deep holes, slots, and grooves. The operator switches between modes according to the shape of the part, getting the best possible data in a single pass.

Volumetric accuracy of 0.02 + 0.04 mm × L (m)

The scanner achieves a single-frame accuracy of 0.02 mm and repeatability of 0.01 mm. Volumetric accuracy increases linearly with the size of the object - 0.02 + 0.04 mm × L (m). Point cloud distance drops to as low as 0.05 mm, so the resulting mesh faithfully captures fine technical details and complex shapes.

Fast laser scanning without spray

Up to 1,500,000 points per second means you can capture larger parts in a matter of minutes. The blue laser handles shiny, polished, and dark surfaces that would require matting spray with most structured-light scanners. This shortens both preparation and post-scan cleaning of the part.

Wireless operation with Wi-Fi 6 and PC streaming

Wi-Fi 6 combined with the Revo Mirror application allows you to stream scanned data from a mobile station to a PC, so you can move freely around the part with the MetroY without cable restrictions. For stable operation, the scanner can be connected via USB Type-C at any time.

Working range from 10 mm to 1 m

The MetroY works at a distance of 200 to 400 mm from the object, the field of view is 43 × 33° and a single frame covers an area from 123 × 130 mm to 290 × 260 mm. The minimum scannable volume is 10 × 10 × 10 mm, the maximum 1 × 1 × 1 m - from tiny components to medium-sized industrial parts.

Stable accuracy thanks to temperature control

Both the image sensor and CPU have their own temperature sensors that compensate for minor drifts in real time during long scans. Active fan cooling keeps the scanner at a stable operating temperature, so accuracy does not deteriorate even after tens of minutes of scanning.

HD RGB camera and marker tracking

The integrated 2 MP RGB camera helps with orientation during scanning. For laser modes, the MetroY uses marker tracking and global marker tracking - you place reflective markers on the surface of the part in an irregular pattern and the scanner maintains a stable track even with parts lacking distinct geometric features.

Open outputs and integration into CAD workflows

The scanner exports to PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, 3MF, GLTF, and FBX formats. The Revo Metro software is used for scanning itself, Revo Measure (optional add-on) for metrological comparison with a CAD model, and Revo Design for converting a scan into a parametric CAD model. Data can also be transferred to Geomagic Design X Go.

Ready for 3D printing

The output mesh in STL or 3MF format is ready to use in slicers and subsequent 3D printing. For printing scanned parts, we recommend choosing the material according to your requirements - dimensionally stable PLA, more durable PETG or technical ABS, or filaments with carbon fibers for functional prototypes.
