The powder-coated surface is applied directly to the metal, making this version of the print sheet highly resistant to damage. If a hot nozzle contacts the surface, the metal dissipates the heat. The powder texture also gives the surface a distinct grainy finish, which will appear on your prints. On MK52 heated beds, for which it is designed, it is held in place by magnets, allowing easy removal while remaining securely fixed during printing.

The textured surface hides most mechanical damage caused by tools. Only the tops of small bumps may be scratched, which will not be visible on the bottom of the print.
