Filament Spectrum PC/PTFE
Resistance to high temperatures and abrasion
Spectrum PC/PTFE is a modern composite filament based on polycarbonate (PC) with the addition of PTFE commonly known as Teflon. High demand and limited availability of materials for additive manufacturing with very good mechanical properties, with particular emphasis on high abrasion resistance, initiated the effort to combine the very good properties of PC and PTFE. Polycarbonate provides high mechanical resistance and PTFE complements it by reducing wear and friction.
The applied modifications ensure improved thermal stability of printed parts, increased electrical insulation, and increased resistance to chemicals and water. Spectrum PC/PTFE filaments are a material with a wide range of industrial applications due to their properties. Prints from PC/PTFE filaments can be processed to have a perfectly smooth surface. The use of this type of material allows the production of parts with relatively complex geometry while maintaining relatively high dimensional accuracy.
Very attractive technical properties of Spectrum PC/PTFE filament are achievable while maintaining the basic principles of storing this type of material (in a dry and dark place with humidity below 15%). To achieve the best parameters of the printed object, it is recommended to dry the material before starting work.
Note: a heated operating chamber is recommended for printing.
Key properties:
- low shrinkage during processing (linear) approx. 0.6%
- heat deflection temperature (HDT B) - 140 °C
- Vicat softening point - 145 °C
- flammability class UL 94 (3.0 mm) - V1
- electrical resistance 1E12 Ohm
