Spectrum PA6 Low Warp GF30 is a high-performance engineering filament based on polycaprolactam (nylon PA6) reinforced with 30% glass fibres. The specially formulated recipe minimises deformation during printing and provides excellent dimensional stability along with high mechanical strength.

Key features

The combination of PA6 nylon and 30% glass fibres delivers high mechanical strength, stiffness and dimensional stability of printed parts. Special additives reduce processing shrinkage to approximately 0.3%, significantly limiting the warping effect, especially in the corners of models. The material is self-lubricating, resistant to fuels, oils and lubricants, exhibits high impact toughness and excellent interlayer adhesion, which minimises the risk of delamination. Printed parts also have good electrical insulation properties and are physiologically inert. For more information about nylon filaments, see the category Nylon and composite filaments.

Who is the Spectrum PA6 Low Warp GF30 BK filament suitable for

The filament is intended for advanced users and professionals who need to print technically demanding parts with high mechanical load and chemical resistance. It is ideal for the production of sliding bearings, scrapers and guide rollers operating at elevated temperatures, sealing rings and plates with increased chemical and corrosion resistance, end-use parts, tooling and functional prototypes. Thanks to the glass fibre reinforcement, it is also suitable for structural elements requiring higher stiffness and dimensional stability.

Tips for use

  • Always dry the material before printing at 70-80 °C for at least 6-8 hours - nylon is strongly hygroscopic.
  • Use a hardened nozzle (for example, tungsten carbide or ruby) - glass fibres are abrasive and quickly wear out a brass nozzle.
  • Ensure good bed adhesion - we recommend PA glue, Magigoo PA or a special nylon adhesive.
  • Print in an enclosed chamber for stable temperature and minimised deformation.
  • Reduce or completely turn off cooling for maximum interlayer adhesion.
  • Store in a dry and dark place with relative humidity below 15%, ideally in a vacuum bag with silica gel.
  • Before long-term storage of finished parts, consider conditioning in a humid environment to achieve the full mechanical properties of PA6.
