Spectrum PA6 Low Warp GF30 Filament
Heat-stabilized copolyamide reinforced with 30% glass fibers
Spectrum PA6 GF30 is another in a series of composite materials based on technical nylon – PA6. This time we opted for glass fiber filling, which is successfully used as an additive to modify the properties of plastics. The use of this type of filler is primarily aimed at mechanical refinement in terms of tensile and compressive strength.
When selecting the composite composition, we wanted to fully exploit the potential of glass fibers as a performance-enhancing additive, and therefore we opted for an uncompromising blend with their 30% share. As with all our polymer and glass composites, we used a functionalized version of the fibers with less aggressive geometry, which reduces printer nozzle degradation.
Spectrum PA6 GF30 is a filament for users who primarily require high mechanical performance, high hardness, and thermal resistance from their models. Due to the high fiber content, it is a filament with very low shrinkage during processing. It is worth mentioning that in terms of thermal resistance, the Spectrum PA6 GF30 filament is on par with the HDT - 180 °C (0.45 MPa) version filled with carbon fibers, which places it at the forefront among materials intended for desktop 3D printers in this regard.
Advantages
- high mechanical properties and abrasion resistance
- excellent chemical resistance
- Thermal resistance HDT - 180 °C (0.45 MPa)
- possibility of printing on desktop printers without a heated chamber
- matte, carbonized print surface
- ideal layer bonding
Applications:
- functional prototypes
- manufacturing equipment
- working parts of devices and machines – rotors, gears
- guides, gear racks, guide rollers
- production of protective rings and plates with increased resistance to chemicals and corrosion
