Key features
ePLA-Silk is based on biodegradable PLA enriched with special additives that provide the characteristic gloss and silky layer structure. The filament has low thermal expansion, minimal warping, and is suitable even for printers without an enclosed chamber. The 1.75 mm diameter with a tolerance of ±0.03 mm ensures stable feeding and even extrusion. The 1 kg spool contains approximately 344 m of material.

Who is eSun ePLA-Silk suitable for
The filament is designed for creators who want to achieve a decorative appearance without the need for post-processing. Ideal for figurines, statuettes, vases, gift items, cosplay accessories, models, and design prototypes. Thanks to its easy printability, it is also suitable for beginners and works reliably on most FDM printers - from Prusa, Bambu Lab, and Creality to Anycubic. The silk surface stands out best on models with smooth surfaces and gentle rounded transitions.
Usage tips
- For the full silk effect, print with a layer height of 0.16-0.20 mm - details remain sharp and gloss is maximized.
- Use a nozzle with a diameter of 0.4 mm or larger - fine particles in the additives may cause clogging in smaller nozzles.
- Dry the material before printing after prolonged storage - PLA easily absorbs moisture, which results in a duller surface.
- Use full cooling (100 %) for clean overhangs and sharp edges.
- For better bed adhesion, we recommend a PEI sheet, glass with adhesive, or a textured print surface.
- Set retraction conservatively (Direct Drive: 0.8-1.5 mm; Bowden: 3-5 mm) to minimize stringing.
- After printing, return the filament to a sealed bag with silica gel.
