PEI surface for reliable adhesion

A polyetherimide (PEI) surface is one of the most proven solutions for FDM printing. The textured finish keeps the model firmly attached throughout the entire print and, after cooling, releases its grip so the print can be removed without force. It works great with common materials such as PLA, PETG and ABS.

Designed for large-format printing

The OrangeStorm Giga features a huge print area, where a quality build plate is a key success factor. Large model dimensions mean a higher risk of warping at corners and edges. The PEI sheet evenly distributes heat from the heated bed and maintains stable adhesion across the entire surface.

Magnetic mounting and lightning-fast removal

The underside of the sheet is fully compatible with the printer's magnetic base. Simply place the sheet on the printer - the magnets automatically align it to the correct position and hold it firmly throughout the print. Once printing is finished, just remove the sheet, flex it, and the finished model pops off on its own.

Powder-coated surface with long service life

The working surface is made as a powder-coated PEI, which resists scratches, mechanical wear and repeated heating. This ensures a long service life even during intensive daily use in a prototyping workshop or for the production of larger batches of parts.

Compatibility with technical materials

The textured PEI surface handles not only common materials but also more demanding technical filaments such as ASA, Nylon, Polycarbonate and composites from the Carbon category. It also holds flexible materials from our flexible filaments range well.

Warping elimination on large surfaces

The microtexture of the surface increases the contact area between the first layers and the build plate. The result is an even distribution of adhesive forces even on large prints, where ordinary build plates often unintentionally detach at the corners. The bottom of the part also gains a characteristic matte texture.

Easy maintenance

For long service life and stable adhesion, it is enough to occasionally wipe the PEI surface with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) at a concentration of 90% or more. Avoid contact with your fingers - skin grease reduces adhesion. When printing materials with extreme adhesion (e.g. PETG), we recommend a thin separation layer (glue stick).
