Filament Dryer

As a drying system, the dryer processes only the portion of filament used during 3D printing, unlike drying the entire spool. Conventional methods can take up to 48 hours to dry wet filament and may damage the spool and/or the filament itself. The filament drying process is pre-calibrated and tailored for each material type, eliminating the guesswork required with traditional drying methods.

Why is filament drying important?

Hygroscopic FDM filaments tend to absorb significant amounts of moisture from the surrounding environment over a few days. Some materials cannot be printed straight out of the box due to high moisture already present in the filament. The presence of moisture in filaments can cause visible printing defects, including poor surface finish, stringing, and oozing. Moisture in filaments can potentially lead to print failures and may affect the mechanical properties of the printed part. Therefore, moisture-sensitive materials must be dried before printing, but without special storage or pre-treatment, print quality can still degrade noticeably, especially during longer prints.
