The HT108L digital multimeter is a versatile measuring instrument that belongs in the workshop of every maker and DIY enthusiast working with 3D printers. It measures DC and AC voltage, current, resistance and capacitance, tests diodes and checks circuit continuity. Compact dimensions, a readable backlit display and a protective rubber bumper make the HT108L a reliable companion for diagnosing heating elements, thermistors, fans and printer power supplies.
Versatile measuring instrument for the workshop

The HT108L covers the common measurement scenarios you encounter in the workshop. DC voltage is measured in the range of 200 mV to 600 V, AC voltage from 20 V to 600 V. This is complemented by DC current measurement up to 200 mA, resistance up to 20 MΩ and continuity check with audible signaling. When commissioning printer electronics, you can quickly determine whether your thermistor, heater block or MOSFET on the board is working.
True RMS for accurate measurement
The instrument supports true RMS measurement, so it provides accurate results even for non-sinusoidal waveforms. You will appreciate this especially when measuring switching power supplies or PWM signals, which are common in modern 3D printer and CNC machine electronics. The CAT III 600 V safety category also means the instrument can handle work in household wiring.
Diode testing and continuity check
The diode test function helps quickly verify the polarity and functionality of semiconductor components - from common rectifier diodes through LEDs to input protection elements of control boards. The acoustic continuity check is useful when looking for broken wires in cable harnesses, of which every printer has plenty - from thermistors to endstops.
Capacitor capacitance measurement
The HT108L can also measure capacitor capacitance, which is useful when servicing power supplies or control electronics. Bulging capacitors on a printer power supply are a common cause of unstable operation - with a multimeter you can detect them before they cause damage.
Clear display with backlight
The LCD display with 2000 counts resolution shows values in large, easy-to-read digits. You will appreciate the backlight when working in the tight spaces behind a printer or in a poorly lit workshop. The HOLD function allows you to freeze the value on the display, so you can calmly write down or photograph the measured value.
Compact dimensions and durable design
With dimensions of 128 x 67 x 36 mm and a weight of just 105 g, the instrument easily fits into a pocket or tool bag. The soft rubber cover around the perimeter provides effective insulation and protects the multimeter from the consequences of falling off the workbench. The body fits well in the hand and has plenty of room for comfortable operation of the rotary switch.
Practical functions for everyday use
The HT108L features automatic shut-off to save battery power, a low battery indicator and the option to save measured values. It is powered by two common AAA batteries, which can be replaced in seconds. No expensive special power sources, no worries about charging.
When it comes in handy in the 3D printing workshop
The multimeter is indispensable in building and maintaining 3D printers - commissioning your own build, checking hotend resistance, verifying heated bed functionality, finding short circuits or measuring voltage on fans. It is also useful for everyday work with electronics, which you print in enclosures made of PLA, PETG or heat-resistant ABS.
