Silica gel SG6 in an 800 g pack is a highly effective reusable desiccant with a colour moisture indicator. Beads with a diameter of 2-5 mm and an active surface area of 800 m²/g reliably absorb water vapour from the air and protect sensitive items from moisture. For makers, it is the ideal solution for storing filaments such as PLA, PETG, nylon or ASA in dry boxes, dryboxes and sealed containers.

Visual indication of moisture saturation

A mix of transparent and orange beads in a 1:20 ratio works as a reliable saturation indicator. Dry silica gel is orange and gradually changes colour through yellow-brown (8 % saturation) to green (30 % saturation at 90 % relative humidity). At a glance, you can tell when it's time to regenerate the desiccant. The indicator is environmentally friendly methyl red (0.09 %), without cobalt chloride.

High adsorption capacity

The active surface area of 800 m²/g ensures that 100 g of silica gel can hold up to 30 g of water. At 50% relative humidity and 23 °C it adsorbs approx. 25.5 % of its own weight, at 90 % humidity up to 36 %. Print moisture for materials such as nylon, polycarbonate or carbon composites stays under control.

Reusable - oven regeneration

Silica gel is not single-use. Once saturated, simply dry it in an oven at 110-160 °C, or in a microwave at 650 W for approx. 10 minutes per kilogram. After regeneration, the beads turn orange again and regain full drying capacity. Mechanical strength and low abrasion ensure long service life - typically several years of operation.

Ideal for filament storage

Damp filament is the enemy of every 3D print - cracking, blisters, weaker interlayer adhesion and poorer surface finish. Silica gel SG6 poured into a dry box keeps PLA, PETG, ABS filaments and even hygroscopic flexible materials in optimal condition. It also works at high airflow rates, making it suitable for actively ventilated dryboxes.

Universal use

The 800 g pack covers common household and workshop needs - protection of electronics, collectibles, documents, optical components. The beads can be poured into bags, cans, bowls, buckets or directly into sealed boxes. Silica gel is odourless, insoluble, electrically non-conductive and inert to most materials.

Rescue of flooded electronics

If your phone or board has fallen into water, silica gel is significantly more effective than rice. Place the device in a sealed container filled with dry silica gel and leave for 24-72 hours. The active micropores draw moisture even from hard-to-reach areas of boards and connectors.

High purity and quality

The beads contain a minimum of 99.5 % SiO₂ (pure gel without water), hard glassy beads without dust and abrasion. Uniform shape of over 80 % of beads in the 2-5 mm range, bulk density 750 ±30 kg/m³. Manufactured by Traiva s.r.o. according to industrial standards.
