Product variants
C-Tech Filament Premium Silk PLA is a premium 3D printing filament manufactured in the EU that combines the easy printability of classic PLA with an attractive satin (silk) surface texture. Carefully formulated color concentrates give prints a characteristic silky sheen and significantly reduce the visibility of individual layers on side surfaces.
Key features
C-Tech Silk PLA is based on classic PLA, enriched with pigments that give the surface a satin appearance. The material retains all the advantages of standard PLA - ease of printing, low shrinkage, and relatively high tensile strength. The filament is biodegradable, does not release unpleasant odors during printing, and is suitable for use in homes and offices.
Industrial production in the EU ensures precise filament diameter (±0.03 mm) and color consistency across production batches. The filament is designed to smoothly enter the heating zone and melt evenly, minimizing the risk of nozzle clogging and print interruption. The low density of the material allows for printing bulky models with a lower final part weight.

Who is C-Tech Filament Premium Silk PLA 1 kg suitable for
Silk PLA is a great choice for decorative and aesthetic prints - vases, figurines, ornamental objects, gifts, cosplay accessories, or models where surface finish and gloss should stand out. The silky effect nicely masks layering, so it is also suitable for lower-resolution prints where you want to achieve an appearance similar to injection-molded plastics. The material is suitable for both beginners and advanced users and can be used on virtually all common FDM/FFF 3D printers. Where higher mechanical or thermal properties are required, we recommend reaching for PETG, ASA, or ABS.
Usage tips
- For maximum silk-effect gloss, print with a nozzle temperature in the upper half of the range (220 - 235 °C).
- Use active part cooling at 80 - 100 %; the silk effect stands out best with good cooling of individual layers.
- A recommended layer height of 0.15 - 0.2 mm provides a balanced ratio between print speed and surface quality.
- Store the filament in a dry place, ideally in a sealable box with silica gel. PLA absorbs airborne moisture more slowly than technical materials, but drying is advisable for longer storage.
- Before a long print after storage, dry the filament ideally at 45 °C for 6 - 8 hours.
- Bed adhesion works well on standard PEI sheets, glass with adhesive, or textured surfaces at 50 - 60 °C.
- When printing models with sharp edges, reduce print speed so the silk effect stands out without artifacts.
