The Bambu Lab Vision Encoder is an advanced calibration tool for the Bambu Lab H2 Series and X2D printers, pushing XY axis motion accuracy below 50 μm. It compensates for mechanical inaccuracies, belt loosening and long-term wear, and thanks to a matrix of 10⁴ encoding marks with 5 μm optical resolution, it delivers consistent accuracy regardless of print size. Combined with the Auto Hole-Contour Compensation feature in Bambu Studio, you get quality on par with injection-molded parts.
Motion accuracy below 50 μm

Even the most precise 3D printer develops mechanical deviations over time. The Vision Encoder uses a matrix of 10⁴ encoding marks and optical measurement with 5 μm resolution, ensuring motion accuracy down to 50 μm - less than the diameter of a human hair. The system continuously compensates for deviations caused by operation and time.
Wear and belt loosening compensation

The Vision Encoder is not just a one-time calibration tool - it is designed to adapt to the machine's evolution over time. It detects and corrects belt loosening, micro-deformations of the frame, and normal mechanical wear, so your Bambu Lab H2 or X2D printer stays accurate throughout its entire lifetime.
Accuracy independent of print size

Calibration with the Vision Encoder is distance-independent - accuracy below 50 μm applies equally to small parts and full-size functional prototypes. On large prints, the benefit is even more pronounced, which will be appreciated by creators of architectural models and large functional parts requiring precise dimensions.
Injection-molding-level quality
Combined with the exclusive Auto Hole-Contour Compensation feature in Bambu Studio, a temperature-controlled print chamber and pre-tuned filament profiles, the Vision Encoder pushes printing beyond the limits of standard desktop devices. The result is machine-grade precision of holes and contours - parts fit together without lengthy tweaking and post-processing.
Fast calibration in 5 minutes
Place the Vision Encoder on the print bed, launch the calibration, and you're done in five minutes. A single calibration lasts weeks of worry-free operation at maximum accuracy. For demanding applications, calibration every two weeks is recommended.
Compatibility with the H2 Series and X2D
The device is designed for Bambu Lab H2 Series printers and the new X2D with dual nozzles. It pairs perfectly with premium filaments for technical applications - such as PETG, ASA, nylon or materials with carbon fiber reinforcement, where dimensional stability is critical.
Before use - important information
The Vision Encoder is intended exclusively for motion calibration; never use it as a print surface. Before calibration, remove the protective transparent film, make sure the camera on the print head is working without HMS errors, and clear all debris from the heatbed. Perform calibration on a cold heatbed so that thermal expansion does not affect the result. After finishing, remove the Vision Encoder and store it safely.
