Bambu Lab Support Filament for PLA is a specialized support material designed for printing with PLA filaments. It allows supports to be easily broken off by hand without leaving residue and without the need for post-processing of the model surface.
Key features
This support filament is developed specifically for use with PLA materials from Bambu Lab. Thanks to its different chemical composition, it does not bond with the main PLA material, ensuring clean separation of supports from the printed model. Supports are removed manually, without using tools, and preserve a smooth contact surface even on complex overhangs and bridges. The filament is fully compatible with the AMS (Automatic Material System) and contains an RFID chip with preset printing parameters. The filament diameter of 1.75 mm +/- 0.05 mm guarantees stable extrusion.

This support material is intended for Bambu Lab printer users who print more complex models from PLA filaments with overhangs, bridges and fine details. It is ideal for figurines, mechanical parts with internal cavities, architectural models and prototypes where a smooth bottom surface and quick support removal are required. The filament is used exclusively for printing the support interface (contact layer), not for entire supports or standalone models - this minimizes material consumption and saves time and cost.
Printing tips
- In Bambu Studio, enable the "Support/raft interface" option to use the material only for the contact surfaces of supports.
- For flat surfaces use the "normal" support type with "Default" style, for complex models use the "tree" type with "Tree Hybrid" style.
- Set 0 mm top interface spacing and 0 mm Z-distance to achieve a smooth surface.
- Before printing, we recommend drying the filament and keeping it in the AMS with desiccant during printing.
- Drying: dryer 55 °C / 8 h, heated bed X1 or H2D 65-75 °C / 12 h, AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT 60 °C / 12 h.
- The filament is not intended for standalone model printing - use it only as a support interface in combination with PLA.
