The Bambu Lab Induction Hotend (Right) is the right-side fixed induction hotend of the Vortek system for the H2C multi-material printer. Lightning-fast nozzle heating in seconds, contactless high-frequency power and signal transmission, and two independent temperature sensors ensure stable operation even with constant switching between filaments and colors.

Key features

The Vortek system is a multi-material platform using up to six interchangeable induction-heated hotends. Instead of purging between colors, a physical hotend swap takes place, so the H2C significantly eliminates purge flushing when printing with multiple filaments. You save material and time and get truly clean transitions between colors or materials.

Induction heating brings the nozzle to working temperature typically within a few seconds. Short reaction time shortens color transitions and further reduces waste. Integrated protection against overheating, overvoltage, short circuit, and open circuit keeps the system reliable even during long multi-material jobs.

Instead of classic metal contacts that oxidize and lose reliability over time, Vortek uses contactless high-frequency transmission of power and signal. The result is a long-term stable connection, precise temperature regulation, and synchronized operation of all hotends without degradation over time.

Two temperature sensors work inside the hotend - one monitors the nozzle, the other the heatsink. If the heatsink temperature exceeds a safe limit, the system automatically increases fan power and thus prevents heat creep, which is the main cause of clogging in fast multi-material printers. Each Vortek hotend also locally remembers information about the loaded filament, so the printer never mixes up materials.

Who is the Bambu Lab Induction Hotend (Right) - H2C suitable for

The hotend is designed for the right fixed position of the Bambu Lab H2C and H2C Laser printers. If you print only one color or one material, the manufacturer recommends this right fixed hotend as the primary one. During multi-material printing, the AMS connects to the right-side hotend, while the left-side liftable hotend is reserved for support material or special composites. Depending on the specific nozzle variant, the hotend can be used with common thermoplastics such as PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, and PC, or with composites reinforced with carbon or glass fibers.

Usage tips

  • For printing a single color or single material, primarily use the right fixed hotend - the left liftable is intended more for support and special composites.
  • For abrasive carbon and glass-filled filaments, choose only the hardened nozzle variant, as stainless steel versions would wear out quickly.
  • For multi-material jobs, let the firmware automatically map filaments between hotends - this minimizes purge and shortens print time.
  • Monitor heatsink cleanliness and fan functionality - the dual temperature sensor does monitor the heatsink temperature, but prevention always saves more than replacing a clogged hotend.
  • For flexible materials such as TPU 85A, choose lower printing speeds, see the flexible filaments category.
