Bambu Lab PVA is a water-soluble support material designed for printing complex models with overhangs and intricate details. After printing, the supports simply dissolve in water, eliminating the risk of damaging the main model during mechanical removal.
Key features
PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) is a special filament designed exclusively as a support material. It dissolves in water, allowing clean and easy removal of supports even from hard-to-reach areas of the finished print. It is ideal for use in combination with PLA filaments, especially when printing models with deep cavities, overhangs, or otherwise inaccessible surfaces. Bambu Lab PVA is compatible with all AMS systems and comes on a reusable spool that is resistant to high temperatures. It enables zero gap in the top support interface, ensuring smooth and precise finishing of the model's contact surfaces.

This material is intended exclusively as a support filament for printers with dual nozzles or an AMS system. It is used by modelers, engineers, and designers who need to print complex geometries with overhangs, internal cavities, or thin details, where mechanical removal of supports would be problematic. It is ideal for prototypes, sculptural models, mechanical parts with complex internal structures, and any prints requiring a perfect surface with no traces of supports. It works best in combination with PLA and PLA-CF/GF materials.
Printing tips
- Always thoroughly dry the filament before printing - 80 °C for 12 hours.
- PVA is sensitive to moisture, store in sealed packaging with desiccant (humidity below 20 % RH).
- Use only as a support material, not intended for standalone models.
- We recommend classic supports instead of tree supports - tree supports collapse more easily during printing.
- To speed up dissolution, use warm water. When supporting PLA, do not exceed 50 °C to prevent model deformation.
- It is not necessary to wait for complete dissolution - partially softened supports can be removed manually.
- Compatible with all AMS-series printers, incompatible with 0.2 mm nozzle.
- To save material, PVA can be used only for the support interface, with the rest of the supports printed from the main material.
- After prolonged storage or repeated drying, the color shade may change, which does not affect printing properties.
