The Bambu Lab Filament Buffer for the H2 series printers (H2C and H2D) is an essential accessory that regulates filament movement between the AMS unit and the print head. The buffer stabilises filament tension, eliminates jerky movements and ensures a smooth, consistent supply of material to the hotend - a key prerequisite for reliable multi-colour and multi-material printing.

Stable filament feed

The buffer's main task is to compensate for length differences between filament being pushed out of the AMS and its intake by the extruder. A pair of internal guide channels absorbs the excess filament and releases it the moment the extruder needs it. The result is an even flow of material with no tension and no slipping of the extruder gear.

Designed for the H2 series

The buffer is optimised specifically for the Bambu Lab H2C and H2D printers. The geometry of the internal channels matches the length of the PTFE tubing and the characteristics of the H2D's dual nozzle, so the system operates with minimal resistance even during rapid material changes.

After mounting, simply thread the PTFE tubes through and the system is ready for operation.

When printing with the AMS and frequent material switching, the filament is repeatedly retracted and pushed forward. Without the buffer, every change would mean a mechanical shock and a risk of bending or jamming the filament. The buffer dampens these movements and preserves both filament integrity and feed accuracy.
