Product variants
Bambu Lab Extruder Filament Sensor - Right is an original spare part for the X2D printer, installed in the upper right section of the extruder to reliably detect the presence of filament. The Hall sensor instantly recognizes the end of a spool or a broken strand and stops the print before you lose an ongoing job.
Real-time filament presence detection

The sensor works on the Hall principle - it detects the magnetic state of a mechanical element that reacts to the presence of filament in the feed channel. As soon as the filament runs out or breaks, the X2D control electronics immediately receive a signal and the print is paused. This eliminates the risk of so-called empty printing and ruining the model at the end of the spool.
Original part for Bambu Lab X2D
This is a service component designed exclusively for the dual-nozzle Bambu Lab X2D printer. It fits into the right extruder (right nozzle) and is fully compatible with the factory wiring and printer firmware. The left extruder has its own mirrored counterpart, which is ordered separately.
Protection for ongoing prints
Long prints lasting tens of hours pose the greatest risk - without a working sensor, you would lose not only time but also material. The filament sensor works with the pause/resume function, so you can seamlessly continue printing after replacing the spool. It will be especially appreciated by users working with PLA, PETG, and technical materials such as ABS.
Easy installation without soldering
The board is secured with a single included BT2x5 screw and connected using the original connector. It requires no soldering or wiring modifications. The complete replacement procedure is described on the official Bambu Lab Wiki, including photos and recommended tightening torques.
Robust plastic construction
The sensor body is made of durable black plastic that withstands the temperatures around the extruder as well as the mechanical stress of filament loading. The design is built for long service life even in intensive use with abrasive materials such as carbon-filled filaments or nylon.
Compatibility and typical use
The part is intended exclusively for the Bambu Lab X2D model and its right extruder. Use it either as a service replacement for a damaged sensor or as a preventive spare part for your workshop. Given its low price, it makes sense to always keep one in stock.
