Product variants
Bambu Lab Extruder Filament Sensor - Left is the original replacement filament presence sensor designed for the left side of the dual extruder of the Bambu Lab X2D printer. It detects whether filament is loaded in the extruder and allows the printer to automatically react to a runout or interruption - typically by pausing the print, swapping the spool, or sending a notification via the Bambu Handy app.
Precise filament presence detection

The sensor works on the Hall effect principle, reliably detecting the passage of filament without any mechanical wear. Thanks to contactless sensing, no abrasion occurs on the filament and detection accuracy remains stable even after thousands of hours of operation.
Designed for the left side of the X2D extruder
This specific part (Left Hall Detection Board) is intended exclusively for the left position of the dual extruder on the Bambu Lab X2D printer. The right side uses a different board, so when replacing it, pay attention to the correct orientation and position during installation.
Automatic response to filament runout
As soon as the sensor detects that filament is no longer passing through the extruder (empty spool, broken strand, jam in the tube), the printer immediately pauses the print and prompts the operator to replace it. This saves you failed prints and material waste - critical especially for long, multi-day projects.
Compatibility with the entire range of filaments
The sensor reliably detects both standard materials such as PLA, PETG or ABS, as well as technical filaments such as ASA, nylon, polycarbonate and composite variants with carbon fibers. It also works with flexible materials such as TPU.
Easy replacement without special tools
The sensor board is fastened with only two BT2x5 screws, which are included in the package. The disassembly and installation procedure is described in detail on the official Bambu Lab Wiki - the replacement itself takes just a few minutes and can be handled by any user with basic manual skills.
Original Bambu Lab spare part
This is an original service part directly from the manufacturer, ensuring 100% mechanical and electrical compatibility with the X2D system. You avoid problems with non-original alternatives that can cause false detections or complete extruder failure.
