What should wall thickness be?

Wall thickness is the total thickness of the outer wall of a 3D model = number of perimeters × extrusion width. Standard 1.2-1.6 mm.

Calculation

Thickness = number of perimeters × extrusion width. Example: 3 perimeters × 0.4 mm = 1.2 mm.

Recommendations

  • Decorations: 0.8 mm (2 perimeters)
  • Regular parts: 1.2 mm (3)
  • Functional: 1.6-2.0 mm (4-5)
