What is seam in 3D printing?

A seam (Z-seam) is a visible joint where the nozzle returns to start each layer. On round models (vases) a visible line forms all the way up.

How to hide seam

  • Nearest - closest point
  • Aligned - always the same spot
  • Random - randomly
  • Sharp corner - in a sharp corner

Tips

For organic shapes: Random. For geometric: Sharp corner.
