What's the correct print speed?

Print speed is the speed of nozzle movement during printing. Typically 50-150 mm/s. Modern printers like Bambu Lab print up to 500 mm/s.

What affects speed

  • Material - PLA faster, PETG slower
  • Nozzle diameter - 0.6 mm faster
  • Layer height - higher = faster
  • Mechanics - CoreXY faster

Typical settings

  • Outer perimeters: 30-80 mm/s
  • Inner perimeters: 60-150 mm/s
  • Infill: 80-300 mm/s
  • Travel: 150-500 mm/s
