What is PLA CF filament?
PLA CF is PLA with a carbon fiber additive. Much stiffer than regular PLA, low shrinkage, matte surface. Requires a hardened nozzle.
PLA CF advantages
Compared to regular PLA: higher stiffness (2-3×), less warping, better dimensional accuracy, beautiful matte surface. Printing almost as easy.
Disadvantages
- Abrasive - hardened nozzle needed
- Price ~2× vs PLA
- Can only print with larger nozzles (0.4+)
- Less impact strength than PETG
