What is PETG filament?

PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is a strong and tough filament for FDM printers. Combines PLA's print ease with higher strength and moisture resistance. Popular choice for functional parts.

PETG properties

PETG is a tough thermoplastic derived from PET. Compared to PLA it's stronger, more flexible and moisture-resistant. Withstands temperatures up to ~80 °C, sufficient for car parts in summer. Odor-free and prints without enclosure.

PETG printing parameters

  • Nozzle: 230-250 °C
  • Bed: 70-80 °C
  • Speed: 40-80 mm/s
  • Cooling: 30-50 %
  • Retraction: lower, to prevent stringing

Typical use

Ideal for: functional parts, holders, organizers, electronics cases, kitchen items (food-safe).
