What is perimeter (wall)?
A perimeter (wall, shell) is the outer wall of the model. The number of perimeters determines wall thickness and strength. Standard 2-3 perimeters.
Number of perimeters
- 1 perimeter - vases, thin decorations
- 2 perimeters - standard, fast print
- 3-4 perimeters - strong functional parts
- 5+ - instead of high infill for max strength
Strength tip
More perimeters often add more strength than higher infill. 4 perimeters + 15 % infill = stronger than 2 perimeters + 50 % infill. Less material and time.
