What is Nylon filament?

Nylon (Polyamide, PA6, PA12) is a technical filament with high strength, wear resistance and stiffness. Suitable for functional parts - gears, sliding guides, machine components.

Why Nylon is special

Nylon has the combination of strength, toughness and slipperiness that makes it ideal for moving mechanical parts. Resists abrasion. Disadvantage: highly hygroscopic - absorbs moisture and crackles when printing.

Printing parameters

  • Nozzle: 250-270 °C (up to 280 for PA12-CF)
  • Bed: 70-90 °C
  • Enclosure: recommended
  • Drying: REQUIRED (8-12 h at 80 °C)
  • Nozzle: hardened steel for carbon variants

Variants

Pure Nylon (PA6, PA12), Nylon CF (with carbon, even stronger), Nylon GF (glass). CF variants need hardened nozzle.
