What is ironing in 3D printing?

Ironing = „smoothing" of the top surface of a 3D print. The nozzle passes over the finished surface with minimal flow - melts layer tops into a smooth unified surface.

When to use

For models with large flat top surface where you want a smooth glossy top.

Disadvantages

Ironing extends printing by 10-30 %. Only works on the last layer.
