What is HIPS filament?
HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is dissolvable in limonene - serves as support for ABS. Also a solid plastic by itself. Print temperatures similar to ABS.
Use
Primarily as support for ABS on dual extruder printers. After printing the part is dipped in d-limonene and HIPS dissolves. ABS remains clean.
Printing parameters
- Nozzle: 230-250 °C
- Bed: 100-110 °C
- Enclosure: recommended
- Cooling: 0-20 %
Standalone printing
As main material: strong, light, easy to machine. Suitable for prototypes, water-proof models.
