What is ghosting (ringing) in 3D printing?

Ghosting (ringing) are streaks behind sharp edges of a 3D print - movement echo. Caused by printer vibrations during fast printing and acceleration.

Causes

  • High acceleration
  • Loose belt
  • Unstable frame

Solution

  1. Lower acceleration by 30-50 %
  2. Tighten belts
  3. Use Input Shaping
