What is flow rate (filament flow)?
Flow rate (flow, extrusion multiplier) is the correction of filament amount extruded. Typically 95-105 %. Calibrated with flow test.
Why calibrate
Each filament has slightly different diameter. Bad flow: under/over-extrusion.
How to calibrate
- Print a flow test cube
- Measure wall thickness with micrometer
- Calculate:
new flow = current × (expected / measured)
