What are blobs in 3D printing?

Blobs (zits) are small bulges on walls of the print - usually where the nozzle starts/ends a perimeter. Caused by poor retraction or pressure advance.

Causes

  • Poor retraction
  • Uncalibrated Pressure Advance
  • High temperature

Solution

  1. Calibrate Pressure Advance
  2. Increase retraction
  3. Enable Wipe while retracting
