What is a heated bed?
A bed is the heated base of a 3D printer on which the build plate sits. Maintains stable temperature during printing and prevents warping.
Bed's role
A hot bed keeps the bottom of the print warm so it doesn't contract - warping prevention. Typical temperatures: PLA 60 °C, PETG 80 °C, ABS/ASA 100-110 °C.
Types
- Aluminum plate - standard, good heat conduction
- Magnetic plate - easily swappable plate
- Silicone heater - more even temperature
